Sketchbook to Product: Best Friend Card

We wanted to give you a little look into our process! From the first sketch of a design to the finished product, a little look into how we make our handmade cards.

Starting with the initial idea, doing a rough sketch and playing around with different combinations for the skin. From there pencil drawing the figures to get them just right, their positions, hair, and faces. Once we got them looking how we wanted, we committed and used a fine tip marker to outline the bodies and clothing. Then we got our markers out and went crazy with the colors! The reason we use a different piece of paper than the front of the card is so you cannot see the marker on the inside of the card (although we think the back of the paper looks pretty too!), it makes the inside of your card clean and ready for your message to your best friend. Next up is the font! We printed a few options so we could see in real life how they would look with the rest of the card. Position everything, glue it all together and… It is done! From concept to finished card! We have a few different designs of these cards available. They are all one of a kind and handmade, unique just like your friendship!
